Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 5 fish filets such as flounder
- Cooking oil, for frying
- Lemon slices
To Make
- Fill a large skillet with cooking oil about halfway to the top. Heat to medium-high (should reach about 365°F).
- Oil is ready for frying when water droplets sizzle as they hit the pan.
- Coat fish filets in batter and plate. Gently place each in the hot oil to fry for about 2 minutes on each side.
- Use a spatula to carefully flip, and fry to golden. Place on a paper-towel lined plate to drain the grease.
Serve with lemon slices and favorite condiments and sides, such as ketchup, tartar sauce, bang bang sauce, coleslaw, rice.
