Strawberry Dessert Recipes Strawberries are not only easy and delicious to use in dessert recipes, but they also contain several minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. And, they are a great fruit to work with. When they are in season, ripe strawberries taste exceptionally well and burst with flavor. While great when fresh, you can still use frozen, canned, or preserved strawberries in your strawberry dessert recipes. When in season, try these strawberry dessert recipes using fresh berries.

There are many ways to make strawberry desserts – four of them are found below. Try your hand in making these desserts which are fit to bring to any special occasion. The following strawberry dessert recipes will make for a great treat:

Eton Mess

1 pack meringue
1 pack heavy cream
1 tablespoon icing sugar
1 pack strawberries, chopped
Lemon juice
Granulated white sugar

Slightly crush the meringue into smaller chunks. Add the heavy cream and icing sugar in a bowl. Chill for an hour and then beat until stiff peaks form. Put the chopped strawberries in a bowl and add the juice of about half a lemon, dust the white sugar and gently mix the strawberries. Fold in the crushed meringue and the strawberries in the cream and place in bowl to serve.

Strawberry Pound Cake

1 loaf sponge cake or pound cake
1 pack of strawberries
1 pack heavy or whipping cream
Strawberry jam

Whip the cream. Slice the pound cake loaf into half horizontally, along the longer side. Spread the cream on the top of the bottom half and top with strawberries. Spread the jam on the bottom of the top half and combine the halves of the cake together. Spread more cream on top of the cake and top with more strawberries. You can drizzle some of the jam if you want.

Strawberry Lemonade Float

Fresh Lemonade
Strawberry syrup
Strawberries, chopped
Crushed/Shaved Ice
Vanilla Ice Cream

Mix the lemonade with the strawberry syrup and add the strawberries. Top with vanilla ice cream and a few more of the strawberries. If you prefer, you can make a smoothie out of the lemonade and strawberries and top with the ice cream. Serve with a straw and spoon.

Strawberry Fondue

9 oz. semisweet chocolate
2/3 cup heavy cream
Strawberries, hulled

Melt the chocolate and cream over low heat. You may add a few dashes of brandy if you wish. If you do not have a fondue pot or set, you can transfer the chocolate to a ramekin or oven proof bowl. You can place the pot over a spirit burner to keep the chocolate melted. Dip the strawberries in the chocolate and enjoy.

Note

Fresh strawberries are always best to use but you can substitute these with the frozen or canned kind. If you are using canned strawberries you may need to adjust the sweetness as some canned varieties will all ready be very sweet.
